Our friend @MonaFims has this #MusicMonday’s music recommendations.
We kick off today’s #MusicMonday playlist with one of my Norwegian favorites: “Maya Vik” with “Oslo Knows”! Many of you know Maya Vik as the bass player from “Montée” and she has also previously played in bands like Furia and Savoy. In autumn 2011 she released her first solo album called “Château Faux-Coupe”. We continue with a Swedish indie-pop favorite! “Boa” with their song called “Push” their debut album “Forever and Never” I really love how they play on a fine line between playfulness and melancholy.
As always I add a few of my favorite singer/songwriters to the playlist. This week: “James Vincent McMorrow” with his soft voice singing “This Old Dark Machine”. So beautiful! And from Calgary, singer/songwriter “Chad VanGaalen” with his sad but beautiful song “Willow Tree”
“White rabbits” is a cheerful sextet featuring two drummers and a piano player. I love their song “Heavy Metal” And last in this week’s playlist, London based “Cajun Dance Party” with “Colorful Life”. I’m still hooked on their song Amylase from 2008.
If you have song suggestion for next week’s playlist feel free to drop them in my Spotify Inbox.
