Already causing a storm in the U.S. where the band attracted huge crowds at this year’s SXSW Festival and Coachella, ‘Torches’ looks set to soundtrack the summer ahead and beyond with its glistening pop choruses, hypnotic synths and hook-laden melodies.
From the funk-bass grove of ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ complete with an instantly catchy, hum-along chorus to the slow-building, epic closer ‘Warrant,’ it’s easy to see why Foster The People have already garnered a huge amount of critical acclaim and public adoration in the U.S.
With production from Paul Epworth (Florence & The Machine/Friendly Fires), Greg Kurstin (Lily Allen) and Rich Costey (Muse) and with influences and inspirations ranging from The Beach Boys to New Order, the bustling ‘Life On The Nickel’ and album opener ‘Helena Beat’ showcase the bands knack of twisting a glorious melody around a funky synth line and thunderous drums.
The band will be playing the following UK festivals this summer:
Sunday 26th June – Glastonbury Festival (John Peel Stage)
Saturday 16th July – Lovebox Festival
Sunday 17th July – Latitude Festival
