Spotify music catalogue updated with 5,900 new tracks

It’s Friday and to try and get you into the mood for the weekend we’ve updated our music catalogue. We’ve added 484 albums and singles to our catalogue, in total 5,945 new tracks are now available.

For a full listing of today’s additions please have a look at the Google Doc. As with every update not all albums listed may be available in your country and some tracks previously available may no longer be playable due to regional restrictions.

  1. “As with every update not all albums listed may be available in your country and some tracks previously available may no longer be playable due to regional restrictions. ”

That’s well known by now, but does it work in reverse. Are some tracks made available in some countries in every update based on restrictions being lifted?

  2. antaru – Yes, it can work the other way as well that we get some restrictions lifted.

  3. AHHH. Refused and Raised Fist are back! Great work! Add the rest of Raised Fists records and I will even more happier.

  4. It can? So it’s not very common? New tracks are, of course, great, but I’m actually more interested in staying up-to-date regarding the restrictions being lifted.

  5. Andres: I have e-mailed Drag City Records in hope of getting back Will Oldham, Smog, Joanna Newsom, Papa M and more on Swedish Spotify. Do u know if there has been any progress with this?

  6. great update, again… thx…

what about addict (album: stones) & unjust?

    greetz from germany…

  7. When will we have the swedish group The Knife at Spotify? Correct biography but wrong albums when you look up spotify:artist:2TJQLb06ONnCpnYJAZGAUh

  8. I also noticed the addition of Refused and Raised Fist. Does this mean that we’ll see more artists from Epitaph/Burning Heart in the near future?

  9. I would like to see morde dance/electronic music on spotify:), and an easier way to search on genres.:)

  10. I’m a bit confused as to why the new Bloc Party remix album is not avaliable in the UK. It’s a london based band, on a london based label and this is a london based (I think) service. You’d think the first place it would be avaliable is in the UK :S Ah well, looks like demonoid has it.

Can you possibly send out notifications like this when restrictions are lifted (and possibly added) to existing tracks in the system.

  11. Please!!! Give us the rest of Raised fist albums!
I Want Sound of the rebublic.

Keep up with the good work!!!

  12. I’d also like to see notes on restrictions being made, or lifted. :S Heck, those seem to often affect more high profile songs anyway. Just now, I see an Alanis Morisette album is no longer available.

  13. There a few albums with date of 2009. The problem being, these records haven’t been (re)issued in 2009. Please, correct the date tagging, when you have spare time and keep up the excellent work for music scene!

  14. @tomc; Albums are correct. The problem is that there’s two bands with the (almost) same name, something Spotify doesn’t handle too well.
So, Knife/the Knife, Warlocks/the Warlocks and Madrugada/Madrugada (just to mention a few examples) will be a bit fucked up untill some egghead manage to figure out a solution.
Even haven’t managed a good workaround for this yet.

  15. Hmm.. Ive notice you guys have all the koRn albums .. except “life is peachy”..

Any chance you guys could add this some time?

  16. So in my deep longing for Antipop Consortium to be back in your catalogue I searched on Robyn to find the girl and the robot but didnt. Found it all right, but not through Robyn. Dessutom wondras I when all of bob the dog will be listed

  17. groove coverage – god is a girl..
    still no rudenko
thanks for prodigy – omen :)

  18. please add “”””””””””””Dreamnation”””””””””””””” ? i think many will like them and they are hard to find :(

  19. Just want to say thank you for putting the bloc party album in the UK as well. Donno if it was because you saw my comment or just because it was stupid to do it otherwise.

    Loving the service so far.
