#MusicMonday playlist brought to you by @MonaFims

Our friend @MonaFims has this #MusicMonday‘s music recommendations.

We kick off a new week with an American electro-pop act; “Penguin Prison” with their catchy song “The Worse it Gets”. We continue with yet another band from New York City; “The Virgins” with their big hit from 2008: “Rich Girls”.

Next in our playlist we find Norwegian “Harrys Gym” with their dreamy song “The Escape”. If this band is new to you I recommend you check out their debut album from 2008 (“Harrys Gym”). So many great tracks from that album! Start with “Brother”! You should also check out their new single called “Horses” that came out just a few days ago.

“Of Monsters and Men” is a six piece indie folk/pop band from Iceland. You have probably heard their single “Little Talks” on the radio. This week I chose to add their song “Sloom” to our playlist.

The last song in our playlist this week is the Scottish indie rock band “Frightened Rabbit”. I really love their single “Swim Until You Can’t See Land” (2009)

If you have song suggestion for next week’s playlist feel free to drop them in my Spotify Inbox.

April Beats presented by @thursplay

Our friends at @thursplay have compiled this playlist for April.

Time to listen to the mix of the beats played on repeat during April.

A little of everything, starting with the impossible-not-to-move-your-feet “Take me Over” by Cut Copy, which is a song you can find on their latest album “Zonoscope”, released last year. Going a little more back in time, a beautiful song by Local Natives, “Cards & Quarters” that’s worth being remembered…

Enjoy the uptempo female voice by U.K indie pop trio Standard Fare singing “Suitcase”. More female voices? You got them: Class Actress, Little Majorette, Grimes, Ladyhawke back with her brand new single “Sunday Drive”, White Sea and more.

Get a good chill vibe from Tunng with their live version of “Naked in the rain”, The Head and The Herat with “Sounds Like Hallelujah” and “Stealing Tomorrow” by Great Lake Swimmers. Just the right amount of slow motion.

And don’t miss the very indie sounds of Architecture in Helsinki, Team Me, Palpitation and many more: there are 25 tracks hand picked for you to enjoy!

What were your April favorite tracks? Share with us today on #thursplay!

#MusicMonday playlist brought to you by @MonaFims

Our friend @MonaFims has this #MusicMonday‘s music recommendations.

As always I have prepared a playlist for you containing old and new songs and also a mix between a lot of different genres. We start this week’s playlist with a beautiful song called “Fool´s Gold” by “The Abramson Singers”. If you like melancholic folk music with great vocals, you will love this first song!

Next one out this week is the Norwegian singer/songwriter “Bellman” with his hit from 2009; “Spaceship, Move Slow”.

We continue with “For You” by “Tin Sparrow”. As they describe themselves on Twitter: “Happy folk for happy folks”. “Pocketbooks” is a pop band from London, combining melodic harmonies, spiraling guitars and descriptive storytelling. I like their song “Promises, Promises”.

The last song in this week’s playlist is an Estonian indie-rock band; “Ewert and The Two Dragons” with their cute song “(In the End) There’s Only Love”.

If you have song suggestion for next week’s playlist feel free to drop them in my Spotify Inbox.

This week we’ve added a great mix of new music to Spotify.

For those of you after sweet, relaxing tones you’ll be pleased to know that Hannah Cohen – Child Bride is available to stream a whole week before its release.

Huoratron – Cryptocracy is also available to stream prior to its release on 24th April, featuring loud synths and stomping kicks this is a record to party hard to.

Moving back to the chilled vibes, and to celebrate the release of Jason Mraz – Love Is A Four Letter Word, we’ve launched an interactive puzzle which can be completed right in Spotify itself. To have a go you just need to click here or, on a Jason Mraz banner, and you’ll be taken through to a page which will also provide up coming tour information, as well as a track by track commentary of the album.

Marvel’s ‘Avengers Assemble Live’ graffiti competition launched today. You can watch on Facebook as the artists create their works of art, and because no picture is complete without great music you can also listen to a specially selected Spotify playlist in Facebook while you watch the masters at work.

We’ve also had a couple of great artists put together playlists of music that they love and find inspiring. So do check out both Anthony Joseph’s playlist and Grant Nicholas – My Driving Playlist which features ‘quality tunes’ chosen by Grant Nicholas the lead guitarist of Feeder.

Listen to Brendan Benson’s Los Angeles Concert exclusively on Spotify.

Brendan Benson toured the US extensively during the winter of 2010 and with the backing of some incredible musicians he took America by storm. Here at Spotify we’ve been lucky enough to get our hands on some audio footage from this tour, which we just couldn’t wait to share.

You can now listen to ‘Brendan Benson – Concert Los Angeles’ exclusively on Spotify. This should tide us all over nicely until the release of his new album also titled ‘Concert Los Angeles’ which will be released on 23rd April.
