After an exciting start to the year, Mona are now readying the release of their self-titled debut album on May 16. Spotify Premium listeners will be able to hear it a whole week before anyone else from today. The album was recorded by the band at their own rehearsal room in the basement of their house, and mixed by Rich Costey (whose list of credits include Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Glasvegas, Bloc Party, Jimmy Eat World, My Chemical Romance and Rage Against The Machine among many others).
To celebrate the album’s release the band are playing a free instore show at London’s Rough Trade East on May 16th, before heading off on a nationwide headline tour. Not content with filling venues themselves though the band are back in the UK in June where they are playing Glastonbury and supporting both the Kings of Leon and Morrissey on tour.
