Happy Birthday Richard Rodgers! Legendary composer of music for more than 900 songs and for 43 Broadway musicals, we’re celebrating his 110th birthday with this playlist of some of his magicial creations!
A little trivia courtesy of Rodgers & Hammerstein: In 1962 Rodgers became the first person to win an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award, now known as an EGOT thanks to 30 Rock. Besides Marvin Hamlisch, Rodgers is the only other person to also win a Pulitzer Prize, or a “PEGOT”.
The R&B-superstar Chris Brown returns with his highly anticipated album “Fortune”. The new album features collaborations with will.i.am, Wiz Khalifa, Nas and Big Sean (to name just a few of the impressive collaborators).
“Fortune” includes the hit single “Turn Up The Music” who reached Number 1 spot in the UK. Chris Brown just released his new single “Don’t Wake Me Up” which is produced by Benny Benassi and William Orbit (famous for his work with Madonna).
Chris Brown invites all Spotify users in the Nordics to exclusively pre-listen to “Fortune” ahead of its official release. On the release day this Friday, you are also going to be able to listen to three exclusive bouns tracks, only in Spotify!”

Our friends at @thursplay have compiled this playlist for June.
To open this June Beats playlist, “Reptile” by Citizens! who come up with an album full of goodies, called “Here we are” and yes: here they are! Start with this track and make sure to not miss on their whole album.
It’s been a month full of new releases: Grizzly Bear with their single “Sleeping Ute”, Cat Power with her amazing new song “Ruin”, Fiona Apple with her new album called “Every Single Night” and the single by same name. What did you think?
Swedish indie folk band called Cryind Day Care Choir granted a spot in the playlist with their great “Where did John Lennon go?” song, that makes you wanna sit around a bonfire with your friends on a warm Summer night. Just a raw chill/feel good experience.
A favorite from Keane’s latest album “Strangeland”, “Run with me”, bringing back the memory of why everybody got stuck on Keane’s songs in the first place: the right mix of sweet vocal and soft melody.
Now beware; play-on-repeat alert:
Norwegian singer Mr. Little Jeans with her very catchy “Runaway”; Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna, who’s been touring in US playing songs of her amazing self-entitled album “Yuna”, will get you lost on her beautiful voice with her “Fading Flower” song.
Find your indie dose with songs by Forestears, Frankie Rose, Nelson Can, Palpitation, Faye, Beach House, Andrew Bird and Urban Cone.
What did you listen to on repeat this June? Share with us today on #thursplay.
