The Fib Heineken Festival is one of Europe’s most renowned music festivals, set amongst the stunning natural beauty of the East Spanish coastal town of Benicassim. The unique location of the festival and the nine days of camping allow the attendees to enjoy a beach holiday as well as a music festival.

A selection of my summer songs of 2010 like Fool’s Gold’s ‘Nadine’, Passion Pit’s Lady Gaga remix and LCD Soundsystem’s ‘I Can Change’, mixed with a selection of recent classics (or perhaps big hits in a parallel pop universe) from The Rapture, Ratatat and Joy Orbison.
Ahead of this year’s Glastonbury festival (full coverage here) we have compiled a 40-track playlist featuring some of the highlights of the world’s most influential over the past 40 years. This is a playlist I threw together for a party last summer. You may notice I got bored compiling half-way through and put on loads of songs with sun-related titles, like ‘Staring at the Sun’, a song by TV on the Radio and by U2 and also by The Offspring.
With the year at its half-way mark, here is a selection of albums I’ve been loving so far this year including the epic-metal of Deftones, the soaring roar of The Besnard Lakes and the lyrically vivid world of Villagers. Scissor Sisters, one of the biggest acts in the past decade, have been hard at work in the studio putting the finishing touches on their third album, Night Work. The new album is the follow-up to the phenomenal success of 2006’s #1 album Ta-Dah.

A playlist that will spark many a ‘I remember that’ moment here with a mixture of true class from the likes of Deee-Lite, Semisonic and Spin Doctors and some slightly more questionable, but equally enjoyable, numbers from Rick Astley, Chumbawamba and Babylon Zoo. Not all strictly one hit wonders but a great listen none the less.

Tiffany Page’s Playlist
Next up is a selection of tunes picked by hotly tipped singer songwriter Tiffany Page. “The songs that I’ve chosen inspire me to pick up my guitar and start writing” says the 24 year old. Her choices include The Rolling Stones, The Rapture and Radiohead amongst others. Check her out her recent EP, Intro, for yourself here.
Ozzy Osbourne’s career has spanned four decades and his music is as relevant today as ever. Scream, Ozzy’s first album in three years and 10th studio album overall, is fueled by the red hot single, Let Me Hear You Scream.
The album marks the first appearance of Ozzy’s new guitar player, Gus G. Ozzy’s band also features bassist Blasko, drummer Tommy Clufetos and keyboardist Adam Wakeman. The album out on June 23 in Sweden – but Spotify Premium users can listen to it starting today.
Later this summer Ozzy will embark on an 18-month world tour. First up, is this summer’s six-city OZZFest, co-headlined by Ozzy and Mötley Crüe and run from August 14th to 24th. American folk rock artist Lissie has been capturing everyone’s attention at the moment with her stunning husky vocals. Her debut album, Catching A Tiger, is out on June 21st but as of this week Spotify Premium users can listen to the album in full.
