Today we’re delighted to announce the launch of Spotify for Symbian. Symbian is the operating system used by a number of smartphones including Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung.

Today’s release means that Spotify Mobile is now available on millions more phones, such as the Nokia 6220 Classic, E71 and 5800 XpressMusic models for all our Spotify Premium users. The application will also run on some of the more popular Sony Ericsson and Samsung smartphones, such as the Samsung GT-I8910 Omnia HD and Sony Ericsson Satio. Symbian is our third launch for Spotify Mobile, along with previously released iPhone and Android versions.

So how do you find out if your phone can run Spotify? Visit www.spotify.com from your mobile browser and find out if your phone is supported. Alternatively, enter your phone number in the Spotify Mobile page. We’ll send you instructions via SMS on how to get started with Spotify Mobile.

We also list all supported devices on our Symbian page, so if you’re looking to buy a new phone and want to know which ones we support you can find them there.

We hope everyone enjoys this early Christmas present!

  2. Got a problem with N97. Spotify seems to do something to my bluetooth headset(nokia bh 214). Sometimes listening to music I can´t answer incoming calls.. The pause/play button doesn´t work either. I really love this so I want it to work. It works well with the wired headset

  3. Whooho, I’m in! I reinstalled Spotify, and this time the workaround with Remote Pro worked fine. So I can confirm that Nokia Xpressmusic 5730 is working as well, though still not officially supported. Playlists works fine, only the upper line of the querty keyboard that still needs to get fixed.
Gotta love it though, a huge THANK YOU to the spotify-crew!

  4. I have noticed that it is not possible to totally delete separate tracks that have been downloaded to the phone. Even if you delete the song/s from the offline playlists, the songs are still stored on the phone until you delete cache/do a total reset of the client. Is there no way to completely delete separate tracks?

Unfortunately, I tried the fix, but it does not work for my N95

  6. Nice work guys, brilliant application! Running it on N95 8GB for 2 weeks with absolutley no problems.
    Cheers!

  8. Some of my best spent 10 euros… Spotify is awesome, run it on my hifi system through digital connection, on my computer, take it with me on my nokia mobile. I just need to run it in the house without a computer on. Please, please, please, spotify, do something for sonos or squeezebox or the likes. Second request… better quality, provide the option for flac or lossless (I would be willing to part away with more euros for that privilege)

  9. What about all of us using Windows mobile? Tempo, Tempo, Then I`ll buy premium

  10. I read on Electric Pig that Spotify for Symbian was great, but in reality it’s even better! I’m floored.

  11. Symbian version works great on my Nokia E75!

Waiting for Maemo (N900) version though, especially since the phone has a FM transmitter to be used in the car❤

    MAEMO! MAEMO!😀

  12. I have been sampling this for a couple of weeks now on my E71. On the whole, very good, and worth the wait.

Just one technical issue: the volume of music is quite low. I use my phone in the car as a satnav as well as music machine, and if I am to have the music loud enough to hear, the voice guidance very nearly shatters the speakers. Is it possible to do something about this – perhaps even have volume control separate from system volume, like for example on the BBC iPlayer app?

Oh, and another vote for last.fm scrobbling. Through Mobbler, for example.

Anyway, thanks for a great app!

  13. Please add support for Windows Mobile. There are a lot of people asking so just give us a yes, no, a date … something.

  14. Make the E72 app ready………

its taking to long seeing how the e71 app was one of the early ones. SO gogo!!

  15. Nice when do we get Spotify on UIQ 3 phones? U have a SE P1i and would like to use spotify on it.

  16. im lovin the move to mobile but im hefty gutted its only for premium users =/

  17. This is without a doubt the most revolutionary development we have seen so far. I am normally sceptical but this is a sure winner and for me this tops everything else…sure it could have scrobbling and that would be nice and it would also be nice if it would work on the s40 platform as well (pity all the new nokia x3 buyers) but I can honestly say that buying that premium code and using spotify in my nokia 5320 was probably the best investment decision I have made in a very long time. Glad to support something that is so consumer friendly…and I am a pretty stingy guy normally but this was just too awesome…I hope the some of the performing artists will rethink their initial sceptical attitude and realize that this is the future and a step toward efficient distribution of music which eventually will benefit everybody…the performers, the record labels, and of course the consumers
