Spotify Music catalogue updated with 2,850 releases

It’s Wednesday, the work week is half over and to help you get through the rest of the week we’ve got another update of our music catalogue. Today we’ve added more than 2,850 albums and singles, in total over 37,000 new tracks are now available. This release includes albums such as Cherry Peel, part of the back catalogue from Of Montreal.

For a full listing of today’s additions please have a look at the Google Doc. As with every update not all albums listed may be available in your country due to regional restrictions.

  1. saw the new Mxpx cover record :) nice job…was a while ago since something i liked come up in one off these updates :)

  2. It’s “Cherry Peel”, rather than “Cheery”. How come the rest of the Of Montreal catalogue (the more recent albums, in particular) isn’t available?

  3. radioedit – Thanks, I’ve fixed the typo. We haven’t received the rest of their catalogue yet from the label, hopefully soon.

  4. The album spotify:album:6ywXkR5CXN0pLCuA4cDV4J is still listed under the wrong artist. The first name Ólafur should be Ólöf. :)

  5. bellfroot – UK release date isn’t until the 30th so it will likely appear sometime after that.

  6. Too many regional restictions. Please note the restrictions on the documents as it frustrating to then log in and not find them available on your country.

  7. Great news!
Several bands have mistakes in their songs’ names (like Franz Ferdinand, Platero y Tú), I don’t know how I can contribute to fix that problem…

  8. How large percentage of this release was made up of Norwegian albums?

And from such a diverse selection of labels. I’m intrigued.

  9. wow ! this is simply superb. imagine if you guys could have a mobile version of this? combine this with flat rate data plans and you could have the worlds greatest streaming music selection on mobile as well.

You should have somebody build you an iphone, symbian, java and windows mobile app for this. Check out

would be awesome. well done ;)

  10. Hi, and first of all thanks for this awesome service!

Is there some problems with the release years of some albums? I’m seeing lots of albums listed as ‘2006’, even if they’re not, and thus appearing in the wrong order.

Would be a nice improvement, if official studio albums would be listed separately and in chronological order by their original release year on an artist’s page. Or if that’s impossible, maybe a discography (by the ‘biography’ tab) listing the albums with original release years…

Also, I spotted Wigwam on the newly added tracks google doc and went searching for it on Spotify. There’s been a slight slip with the naming: “Wigwam” is a finnish prog-rock band from the 70’s, but their albums are listed under “Wig Wam”, a norwegian glamrock band. Also Wigwam’s album “Titan’s Wheel” seems to be somehow corrupted, since it’s ‘crackling’ a lot!

Anyhow, thanks for this great app! I’d love to help develop it even further in anyway I can. ;)

  11. Thank you for adding Norwegian music! Is there a Google spreadsheet with all music in Spotify? I would like a sheet which is categorized by label, and not artist name.

  12. two things you should consider:

REPLACING censored releases with the real thing, or at least offer it as an alternative

ADDING a bit more dubstep (skream, benga, rusko and so on)

  13. What about havin a google doc thing with a list of what’s not avalable for us in Norway, I am waiting for a few artists, but don’t know if im waithing for no reason.

  14. I am also very positive to the idea mentioned above, to having the google doc listed by label and not by artist. Please!

  15. In addition, I hope you will add a column to the coming Googe Docs with name of the country the artist is from.

  16. Finally some Dave Matthews Band. And wow with the Norwegian update! A lot of Kirkelig Kulturverksted (do check it out). Among them more Dronning Mauds Land (spotify:album:7iyqKmxgOdq37y3OcwYoh8). And Postgirobygget! Great update!

  17. Actually, Dave Matthews Band in this case should be Dave Matthews. Without the band.

  18. Yeah, it’s really frustrating that the real release years aren’t showed. Totally. Change – please.

  19. Thanks a lot for “Just a Band – We Are…” !
Keep up adding good electro :)
