Grammy nominated and multi-platinum singer/songwriter Demi Lovato discusses her new Spanish version of “Tell Me You Love Me” on Spotify’s Latin flagship playlist ‘Viva Latino’
Spotify is proud to announce Amplify, a new year-round hub available to fans in the US & Canada that highlights, empowers, and amplifies important topics and voices from various communities. Throughout the year, Amplify will focus on different causes including Gender Equality, Mental Health & Self Care, LGBTQ rights, and Immigration.
Spotify kicks off Amplify in March with ‘Amplify Women’ in celebration of Women’s History Month. Amplify Women will feature a broad range of podcasts and playlists that voice and represent the views of women, including a dedicated playlist, updated weekly. This month, the playlist will be known as Amplify: Women of the World and features artists such as Raisa x Isyana from Indonesia, Saara Aalto from Finland, and Fatouma Diawara from Mali to name a few.
Acknowledging a recent global surge in streams of Latin music, throughout March Spotify will also highlight the diverse voices of Latin women via Spotify’s Latin hub. To kick-off the Women of Latin initiative on International Women’s Day, Spotify is releasing a video interview of Demi Lovato in the studio recording a new Spanish version of her hit “Tell Me You Love Me” as well as discussing the topic of gender equality, her confidence as a woman, and more. Both the track and video will be available on Viva Latino within Spotify’s Latin hub until Thursday, March 15th. In addition to the release of this new track, Spotify will also be sharing a special Viva Latino podcast episode featuring Becky G on the same subject matter.
Demi Lovato told Spotify, “Our world is inspiring people to speak up about the things they believe in, to make a difference, to make a change.” She added “And one of the things that people are speaking out against is women’s rights, women hold so much power, so much strength, we really need to embrace that as a society and all genders.”
Becky G said, “It’s an honor to be part of Spotify’s Viva Latino Podcast, especially on International Women’s Day! I take pride in being an empowered, young Latina who works hard to honor other strong women around me, and all over the world, not just today, but everyday.”
The Latin hub will include a new pop-up shelf known as ¡Viva Latinas!, featuring all-female led Latin playlists including Latin Pop VIP, Baila Reggaeton, Que Sabor, Top Alternativo, Rock Total, La Brava, and more. In particular, Spotify has created a special edition of its Latin Divas playlist, which comprises of female artists from all parts of Latin America, the US Latin community, and Spain, to include a selection of tracks and inspirational audio liners from artists including Karol G, Leslie Grace, Mon Laferte, Francisca Valenzuela, Natalia Lafourcade, Pitty and more.
