Nursing the SXSW Hangover?

We’re winding down from a week-long party presented by MSN at this year’s SXSW. What a whirlwind experience it was – from A$AP Rocky, Of Monsters and Men, Kimbra and more – Austin was green with all things Spotify.

Over the course of a week we set up shop in a Heritage house from the 1900’s, located just outside of the hussle and bussle of downtown, on E. Cesar Chavez. At the Spotify House presented by MSN, we invited music-lovers to join us in discovering some of today’s hottest emerging acts in an intimate setting; from a porch-side performance by Yellow Ostrich to a camp-fire style set with Delta Spirit on the lawn, each day we hosted a series of Spotify Sessions, giving an up-close-and-personal look at the talented performers behind all the buzz at this year’s SXSW.

Between the Sessions, festival-goers were invited to soak up some sun, enjoy a cocktail or some local food truck bites, and challenge their buddies to a friendly game of ping pong. Our photobooth captured many of the smiles and laughs. It was great to see people return day after day to hang out with Spotify and the MSN team.

The party didn’t stop there, as we hosted Spotify Live presented by MSN – a rooftop concert in the heart of downtown Austin, featuring some of SXSW’s most talked-about acts – Grimes, SBTRKT and A$AP Rocky.

Onlookers below and surrounding the rooftop were treated to a video stream of the show, which was projected onto buildings surrounding our 6th Street location, transforming the intimate engagement into a larger-than-life event that, according to Billboard.com, “no one in downtown Austin could overlook.”

Special thanks to MSN for making this all possible! Thanks to all of our friends at Rolling Stone, Dig For Fire, Bacardi, Honest Tea, KIND, Miller Lite, Mutewatch, Pop Chips, SOL Republic, and Sonos who helped in creating such a fantastic event.

Hope you had a great time and look forward to seeing y’all again soon.
