Mark Ronson is back and this time more than ever, he means business – the Business Intl, in fact.
‘Record Collection‘ is the third album headed up by the mid-Atlantic muso mastermind and, as usual, he’s bought a host of famous friends and former collaborators along for the ride. The follow up to 2007’s triple platinum ‘Version’ – which sold one million copies in the UK and saw Ronson score the Best Male Solo Artist gong at the Brit Awards – is every bit as impressive as it’s predecessor.
Along with the album today we have a super cool interactive app built by the good people over at MXP4. The app lets fans to play with three Ronson tracks – Bang Bang Bang, The Bike Song, and Somebody To Love Me, in a game-like fashion. The individual elements of each song can be turned on and off as each track plays, allowing you to create your own unique versions of the songs. Enjoy!

Swedish duo Johnossi have been an ever-present on the Spotify office playlists this past year.
As you can see, the artwork for their latest album ‘Mavericks‘ was designed by the very talented Kim W Andersson.
Kim and the band recently had the wonderful idea of joining forces with fellow cartoonist Fabian Göransson to work on a series of unique comic book series, Johnossi Comics (see right).
The series tells the story of Ana Rosario, a professional surfer who is competing at the annual Mavericks Point competition who runs into her arch enemy – the evil Jessica Ford. Along the way she meets our heroes John and Ossi and a big white German Shepherd called “Maverick”.
Johnossi Comics, published by Fabian, hits shelves in November but Spotify users can follow the first story from today.
We loved this idea so much that we asked the band for a very special favour: that one of our users be featured as a fully-fledged animated character in the next edition of the comic, “Dead End” out later this year. And guess what – they agreed!!
For the chance to become your very own cartoon character in the Johnossi comic, enter our competition by posting a picture of yourself here. Be sure to check back on our What’s New page over the coming weeks as we’ll be using some of you pictures as part of a major homepage takeover!

World-dominating rockers Linkin Park release their ground breaking fourth album ‘A Thousand Suns’ next week, but we’re giving Premium users a chance to hear the album in advance over the weekend.
A Thousand Suns addresses various issues close to the band’s heart, from the recession to the conflicts in the Middle East, and is produced by legendary producer/guru Rick Rubin in collaboration with Mike Shinoda.
Lead vocalist Chester Bennington explains: “We’re not just making an album. The experiments that resulted filled the studio hard drive with diverse, abstract sounds, amorphous echoes, cacophonous samples, and handmade staccato merged into wandering, elusive melody. Each track felt like a hallucination.”
He continues: “We wanted to make a record that felt conceptual, a record that felt like as a whole that it told a story, a story that was very powerful and thoughtful. The album has some kind of feeling of that the entire album takes you on a journey and leads you down this path that is very visual and very emotionally charged.”
