Paypal now added for Spotify Premium

Starting today you’ll be able to pay for your Spotify Premium subscription using a Paypal account. Adding Paypal, along with Pressbyrån & 7-Eleven, is part of our continuing effort to make it as convenient as possible for you to subscribe. Paypal accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards, you can also link Paypal directly to your bank account to make payments.

At the moment Paypal is only available in the UK, we’ll be supporting more countries in the near future.

So if not having a credit card has been holding you back from subscribing, now is a great time to upgrade.

Music catalogue updated with 74,697 tracks

For the second day in a row we have a music update to let you know about. We added 5,148 albums and singles to the catalogue today, in total 74,697 new tracks are now available.

Spotify Premium, Starting To Appreciate

We’ve got a number of new pre-releases today for Spotify Premium subscribers.

First up is the self titled debut album from Swedish band Tutankamon, available now for subscribers in Sweden, Finland, Norway, UK, Spain and France.

Trip hop duo Massive Attack have a new EP, Splitting The Atom, out in October but
subscribers in Sweden can listen now!

London folk duo Mumford & Sons release their debut album, Sigh No More, early next month. Starting today Spotify Premium subscribers in the UK can listen to the album before it’s released.

The final release is from Danish alternative band The Asteroids Galaxy Tour. Their The Asteroids Galaxy Tour Live release is now available to all subscribers for pre-listen.

Spotify Premium Sweden, exclusive Mika concert

This month we’ve done a meet & greet and a pre-release with Mika. Now we’re offering Spotify Premium subscribers in Sweden the chance to see him live in concert. This is an invite-only event and the only show he’s doing in the Nordics this year, so don’t miss out!

The concert is this Thursday, October 1st, at Berns 2.35:1 in Stockholm and we have 30 pairs of tickets to hand out. For a chance to go to this exclusive show leave a comment on the blog and let us know why you want to go, we’ll notify winners on Wednesday.

iPhone update on the way

A few days back we submitted an update of our iPhone app to the App Store for approval. The update will improve the general stability of the app, as well as add a few small improvements such as pausing music when you pull out your head phones. We’re also adding the capability for more efficient streaming over low bandwidth to help out those of you on slower connections. It will likely take a few weeks for the update to appear but we wanted to let everyone know that it’s on the way.

Spotify Premium UK, Bent concert tickets

English duo Bent released their debut album, Programmed to Love, back in 1999 to critical acclaim and received groundbreaking response and praise. On October 7th they’re doing a gig at Cargo in London and we have 25 pairs of tickets for Spotify Premium users in the UK, any subscriber who doesn’t win free tickets can get 50% off at the door.

Spotify Premium, All I Wanted

Another big round of pre-listen oppotunities today, in particular for subscribers in Sweden.

First up in Sweden is the album brand new eyes by American rock band Paramore.

Swedish singer-songwriter Basshunter had a new album out later this month but subscribers in Sweden can listen to Bass Generation starting today.
